Programme of Inquiry
Our Primary Programme of Inquiry divides into six different ‘Units of Inquiry’. Our units provide the context for much of the learning in Language and Mathematics, as well as all content within Science and Social Studies. Units of Inquiry are transdisciplinary and, where appropriate, authentic connections are also made between the units and the single subjects Music, Visual Arts, German and Physical Education. Each unit of inquiry lasts for approximately six weeks. The units are designed to be relevant, significant, engaging and challenging, as well as developmentally appropriate.
Students will explore content within each of the following transdisciplinary themes:
- Who we are
- How we express ourselves
- Where we are in place and time
- How we organize ourselves
- How the world works
- Sharing the planet
Within the Units of Inquiry, students develop skills, attitudes, conceptual understanding and knowledge.
