Co-Curricular Programme

Grow through teamwork
A range of sports, like football outside on our playing field, teach teamwork and healthy lifestyle habits.
Find your voice on global issues
Model United Nations is one of our flagship activities, thinking leadership, debate and negotiation skills.
Develop talents and take to the stage
Theatre and musical performances like the Wizard of Oz give students the chance to learn new skills and make new experiences.
Aim high, train hard
Our girls sports teams, like the varsity volleyballers, enjoy teamwork, sportsmanship and individual excellence.
Unite for concerts and theatre performances
All students in Grades 6-8 learn a band instrument and perform in 2 concerts a year.

School is more than what happens in the classroom

We believe that students should have many ways to experience success, venues to make new friends and ways to explore (and broaden) their unique talents. These experiences can be in the classroom -- but also on the playing field, on stage, while making music, or joining a club.

Run by teachers, parents and select coaches and activities leaders, the BIS Co-Curricular Programme (CC) provides many opportunities for students to broaden their interests and talents.

Enjoy a breadth of options

Our programme spans everything from the arts to sports, languages to political debating clubs. Students participate in a variety of activities during lunchtime, before and after school as well as during school holidays.

The cost of activities varies broadly, depending on the type of activity and its provider. Some activities incur no additional cost, whilst others such as private music or language lessons encounter a specified fee. Our competitive sports teams travel to play with other international schools. Families of students who compete with our sports teams contribute a proportion of the costs associated with this.

Playing sports, especially team sports, is excellent preparation for all areas of adult life. You learn winning with fairness, losing with grace, commitment and putting your team before yourself. These are so important for careers, relationships and personal wellbeing.
