The mission of Bonn International School is to
empower and inspire students to achieve their full individual potential
and become responsible global citizens.
We provide an innovative, internationally-recognized education within a compassionate multicultural community.

Dear Friends,

Welcome to Bonn International School (BIS) and our thriving school community as we celebrate 25 years together for international education.

I invite you to explore our site to experience a sense of life and learning at BIS. In addition to facts and figures, I hope you take away an appreciation for the relationships cultivated between the diverse members of our community and how these accelerate learning.

Our educational programmes focus on discovering and nourishing individual potential and inspiring each one of us to achieve our personal best. Our curriculum connects classroom learning to real life, making it relevant and powerful. Equally, it cultivates intellectual curiosity, independence and academic rigour. Our students are future-ready, practised in independent learning and confident in the positive impact they can make in the world.

Director, Dr Sims discusses with students their impressions of the Diploma Visual Arts Exhibition

Underpinning our academic programme is a focus on wellbeing, agility and resilience. This leads to a growth mindset and positive attitude toward life-long learning in each of our 800 students (and their teachers!). A sense of belonging and partnership unites our community and further empowers students to be confident, take risks and pursue their passions. We are fortunate to have a large riverside campus which provides the generous spaces, resources and technology needed for students and teachers to succeed.

BIS also benefits greatly from its host city, Bonn, a university town, which is also the hub of the United Nations in Germany and home to many international companies and non-governmental organizations. Bonn affords an outstanding quality of life and sits in one of the most picturesque and well-connected parts of central Europe.

Whether you are choosing the right school for your children, interested in teaching at BIS, or revisiting as a part of our 25th anniversary celebrations, we welcome your visit and look forward to meeting you in person.
