CC Competitive Sports Teams

Link: CC Programme Handbook

BIS has an established Competitive-Traveling Sports Programme for grades 5-12 and are established members of NECIS and ISAA Sports Leagues. We are well respected for our excellence in competition and in the  quality of character of our student-athletes, both on and off the playing field. We pride ourselves on our reputation for not only challenging our student-athletes to be the best, but by developing their social responsibilities and nurturing them to be true ambassadors of sportsmanship. Grade level and age eligibility for BIS Co-Curricular (CC) Sports Teams are determined by the policies of the two sporting organizations (NECIS and ISAA) in which BIS is a member. The following provides a summary of these requirements as they pertain to the various BIS teams and sports.

The age of a student on 1 September, 2021 determines the team for which that student is eligible — i.e. a student has to be younger than 19 on 1 September 2021 to play on an Varisty team or younger than 14 on 1 September 2021 to play on a U14 team.  However, for U12 and U14 Volleyball, Basketball, and Girls Soccer (Spring), the grade of the student determines which team they are on ( 5-6th grade are all U12 and 7-8th grade are all U14)

Students have to be in Grade 5 or older to participate on a BIS CC Sports Team.

Maximum age for all sports: Students must still be 18 years of age on 1 September 2021 (students who are 19 or older on 1 September 2021 are not eligible to play).

The different age groups in Track and Field, Cross-Country and Swimming normally practice and travel to events together but athletes compete in their specific age bracket.

These sports teams are funded by the school and by parents. The fee for each sport is €275 per child/per season when that child attends the season ending tournament. If a student is on the team and travels to friendly matches during the season BUT IS NOT SELECTED TO GO TO THE SEASON ENDING TOURNAMENT then the fee for the season is €50. This is a flat fee and is the same no matter what team or where the season ending tournament is held. The fee is paid by invoice per child per sport at the end of each specific sports season (Fall-November, Winter-March, Spring-May). This fee aids the school in funding the costs of the program including traveling, accommodation, and equipment and uniform purchases.

Students selected to travel with their team are required to purchase the CC Sports Tracksuit Jacket. This jacket must be worn while traveling to all away games and tournaments. Additionally, the matching track suit pants may be purchased, but not required.

The CC Sports Tracksuit Jacket costs €43 for adult sizes and €39,50 for children's sizes. Matching Tracksuit Pants may also be purchased, but are not compulsory. For an optional €5 charge, the student’s initials may be printed on the jacket or pants.

All orders above €25 via “Schwarz Sports” are free of delivery charges.

These items can only be purchased online with the supplier “Schwarz Sports”. To access the online shop:
