Tuition and Fees
Bonn International School is a not-for-profit association whose operating costs are financed entirely through tuition fees. These fees are recommended by our Board of Trustees and approved at our association's Annual General Meeting every May.
The ‘School Fees 2019 - 2020’ document contains the fee breakdown for the next school year.
Additional fees may accrue according to the age and activities of each child. These fees may include examination fees (for externally moderated examinations, i.e. SAT), extracurricular activities (an estimate of the cost will be available prior to tryouts) or overnight trips (day trips are included in regular school fees).
Starting in Grade 1, school fees are tax-deductible in Germany up to € 5000 per child per year. Please consult a tax advisor regarding applicability in individual cases.
BIS has a Financial Assistance Programme to support families who are unable to pay full school fees and can demonstrate this financial need. A limited number of full and half scholarships are available each year. The guidelines for Financial Assistance have been set and agreed by the Board of Trustees and can be found in our ‘Financial Assistance Policy’. Inquiries regarding financial assistance information and applications should be sent to email@example.com.
