Open Positions

Teaching posts at Bonn International School require a recognized teacher’s qualification. Two years’ or more experience is desirable, as is experience with International Baccalaureate Programmes. Initial contracts are usually given for a period of two years.

All faculty speak English with mother-tongue proficiency. A strong commitment to the school’s mission and vision as well as to the ideals espoused through the International Baccalaureate curricula is essential. Experience of working in an international school would be an advantage.

We list open positions as they become known; these change with time. If you are interested in applying to BIS as a faculty member, please check this page on a regular basis.  At this time, there are no openings for faculty positions.

We are looking for qualified Cover Teaching Assistants for the 2020-2021 school year starting on Tuesday, 25 August 2020. Cover teaching assistants substitute teacher for faculty off for professional development, illness or personal reasons.

Qualifications

  • Work experience with Primary School students is essential.
  • Experience as a teaching assistant is useful.
  • Flexible work on demand (ad-hoc).

Salary: Minijob (€ 450 per month), paid on half or full days per timesheet.

 

The administrative staff at BIS is 35 people strong and supports the school community in many ways, from accounting to zebra crossings. At this time, the positions listed below are open. Qualified candidates are encouraged to apply.

Extracurricular Programme - mini-job positions

Cross-Country Coach (Crosslauf)

Dates: 1 September - 30 November 2020 (3 Months)

Qualifications: 

  • Competitive running coach experience, preferable at U14 or older
  • Valid German work permit
  • Current health insurance
  • No other mini-job contract
  • Fluent in English
  • Ability to obtain valid first aid certification before start of season
  • Ability to obtain valid police background check (Erweitertes Führungszeugnis)

Team Details: 

  • Grade 5-12 Boys and Girls (Co-Ed). Team size ca. 35 students.
  • Practice twice per week (90 minutes each practice). Practice times are typically 15:45-17:15.
  • Meets on Saturdays at various venues in North West Europe hosted by International Schools (must be able to travel on several Saturdays during season).
  • Bonn International School is a member of NECIS league with weekend meets and end-of-season cross country championship against other member schools. 

Salary:  Mini-job on €450 per month (x 3 months) = € 1.350 for season.

U14 Girls Volleyball Coach

Dates: 1 September - 30 November 2020 (3 Months)

Qualifications: 

  • Volleyball coaching experience, preferable at U14 or older
  • Valid German work permit
  • Current health insurance
  • No other mini-job contract
  • Fluent in English
  • Ability to obtain valid first aid certification before start of season
  • Ability to obtain a valid Police Background Check (Erweitertes Führungszeugnis)

Team Details: 

  • Grade 7-8 Girls
  • Practice twice per week (90 minutes each practice). Practice times are 15:45-17:15 or 17:15-18:45 .
  • Games on Friday/Saturdays.
  • Home Games on Friday afternoon and Saturday mornings.
  • Away Games with various international schools in North West Europe (able to travel on Friday afternoons through Saturday evenings) every other weekend. 
  • Bonn International School is a member of NECIS league with weekend friendlies and end-of-season tournament against other member schools. 

Salary:  Mini-job on €450 per month (x 3 months) = € 1.350 for season.
