BIS has a "one stop" communication center for its parents and students when it comes to the Primary Years Programme -- a series of wikis (on-line information portals) for each grade level. These contain all information regarding upcoming events, curriculum, homework, photos and class projects and are updated on a weekly basis.
Although these are password protected, you can click on the link http://digitalhub.bonn-is.de to get an idea of the look and feel of these communications channels.
The Early Learning (EL) section of Bonn International School is designed for 3 - 5 year old children. Students are assigned to either EL3/4 and EL5 according to their age. Conducted in English, the programme is an integral part of the Primary Years Programme of the International Baccalaureate Organization (IB).
Our EL offers students a warm environment in which they are stimulated to make their own discoveries about the world around them. Classes have low student-teacher ratios and the additional support of a teaching assistant. Classes follow a structured curriculum with clearly defined learning objectives.
We nurture the children's natural curiosity. We at BIS believe that inquiry is a powerful tool to learn about their environment. In all our activities we acknowledge differences in developmental stage, as well as cultural and linguistic backgrounds. Learning in an international environment, with many different nationalities represented, offers a positive experience to all the children.
